For many teens, learning photography is simply out of reach financially.
Social Fabric Collective is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to making this transformative experience available to as many students as possible and thus we accept teenagers into our photography program regardless of their ability to pay the tuition. Currently, everyone receives some form of financial assistance and 90% of our students’ participation is fully subsidized.
During the semester, each SFC student is supplied with a camera, works at a fully equipped computer workstation, participates in class field trips and volunteer opportunities that broaden their horizons.
Donated equipment from friends in the photography industry help us provide this very rich experience for our students, but it’s the generosity of our individual donors that allow us to offer the class to our students on a need-blind basis.
The work we do would not be possible without the generous support of our patrons. Please consider donating at one of the levels below or choose a custom amount of your choice.
Come out and meet the artists, get an exclusive preview of their work and help support future student exhibitions by purchasing a ticket to the reception. Tickets are $20 per person.

Free public exhibition opening to follow from 6:30-7:30PM

A mobile portrait studio will allow us to go on location and provide students with valuable hands-on experiences documenting people at festivals and community events. Your donation will help us purchase a Sun Cage (invented and used by legendary Hollywood portrait photographer Greg Gorman) and a Peter Hurley (Headshot Crew) Lighting Kit.
Each student creates thousands of high-resolution images. Funding hard drives allows students to take their archive with them at the conclusion of the program.
It costs approximately $15,000 per year to fund SFC’s technology (computer stations, cameras, lenses, software & hard drives). The equipment has a 3-5 year life cycle so a donation to our technology fund enables multiple students to experience our class.
Ninety percent of our students receive full scholarships based on demonstrated financial need. This donation fully funds one student for a semester session.
Our philosophy encourages students to create public facing work. Sponsorship of a gallery exhibition includes the creation of hundreds of printed images and a set of professionally framed prints which are displayed at local art walks and other venues.
A donation of $25,000 or more places you in our Patrons Circle which funds ongoing operations and projects.
Any dollar amount is greatly appreciated and carefully spent. For questions related to in kind contributions or gift donation receipt letters please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or (570) 613-2222 or you may also send a check to:

"Photography is magic and learning about capturing light is learning a new language, which is why the work of Social Fabric Collective is so important. Photography is about looking at the world for the first time and finding a way of expressing yourself.
We are are all dreamers, and the work of Social Fabric Collective is an extremely important link to exposing kids at an early age to making some of those dreams come true."
